Hey all you Crazy cats and kittens! Well, isn't lockdown a massive sorry state of affairs?! I really hope everyone is keeping really safe during and managing to stay sane during these uncertain times! I'm pleased to report I'm hanging in there and surviving on a diet of Netflix, beer and walking the dog! So what’s been going on at Jonathan David Towers? Well, I've been trying to help out anyway I can by 3D printing face shields for the NHS, and up to now, I've managed to print around 100 shields that have been donated to local hospitals and key workers in the area! Alongside this, I've set up a Just Giving page, where I've managed to raise £400 in donations to help cover the costs of production, and even managed to go and get myself on the radio! The response has been absolutely amazing, and if you've not already done so, any amount you can pledge to the cause would be hugely appreciated! I've spoken with lots of couples over the course of the last month or so, and I'm absolutely devastated that more or less all this year’s bookings have had to be postponed. The knock-on effect to this is that 2021 is currently getting booked up very very quickly, as most of my customers are electing to maintain their summer weddings and are moving dates to 2021. It’s a huge blow, and I can only imagine how upsetting this has been for people planning their weddings. You contact me by email, text or phone (Even carrier pigeon if you prefer) and I'll be happy to have a chat with you. What can I do to plan my wedding when everywhere is shut? I think the crucial thing at the moment is communication. The general consensus after speaking with other people within the industry is to speak with your suppliers and venues to get everything moved over at your earliest convenience. The majority of businesses are still monitoring emails and will be just as keen to keep your bookings in place, even if it means moving you to a different date.
Failing that, Pinterest is an invaluable resource! I can't tell you just how many amazing craft ideas, little touches and even ideas for photos can be found just by having a quick browse! It's unbelievable what you can achieve with just a few basic craft supplies. There’s literally no better time to learn a new skill and produce something that will add that tiny bit of finesse to your wedding!
