And for good reason!
It's been a busy one, so this week's blog is going to be more of a catch-up than anything, so we can bring you up to speed on the things that have been going on!
First things first:
The Wedding Industry Awards! (TWIA)
Now, I'm not about to do an X-Factor Style reveal, but sadly we didn't walk away with an award this year. Now, that's not to say I'm by any means disappointed, because it's our first year ever entering, and we were up against some incredibly talented wedding photographers.
Even getting to be up there with the best of them was honestly worth its weight in gold to us. It was the most saturated category in one of the biggest regions in the UK, and getting to the regional finals alone, has meant we've beaten our way past hundreds of photographers in our field, so we're firmly walking away with our heads held high.
We're not through with the TWIA's though, as we're without a doubt heading back next year for another shot at the big time!
But that doesn't mean you're getting away without hearing a little bit of an acceptance speech. Oh no.
So firstly, there is no way on earth we would even have made it as far as I did without some of the fantastic reviews and recommendations you all put forward (I've not been allowed to read them yet - but we'll get copies of everything in the new year, so I'm very excited to see what you all put!).
Honestly, we've had the pleasure and the honour of working with some amazing couples over the last year. It's been incredibly busy, but when I've seen some of the comments after couples have received their photos, it's made it all worth it for me, and ultimately that's what it's all about!
You'll often hear me harp on about how I consider all my couples friends, and nothing could be more fitting. You're all absolutely amazing. I love you all.
Any other business...
Well, yes actually. I'm now at the time of year when I'm firmly on the wind down for Christmas and getting ready for the new year. I've got one wedding for the year left in the diary, but up until that point, it's all about the prep work for 2023 as I've already got some fantastic things in the pipeline, including a little collaboration that'll see us make an appearance at the national wedding fair at the NEC! All very hush-hush for the time being, but we're still massively excited!
That wasn't all this last week though, as Mackalla and Zarif tied the knot on Tuesday, booking me for their wedding just the Saturday before. I didn't get the chance to prepare as much as I usually would have liked, but between myself and Mackalla, we managed to get some ideas down, and some stunning shots which I'm looking forward to getting edited up for them! They've got some proper autumnal vibes, which I know are going to look incredible once I've had the chance to work my magic when it comes to editing!
Anything else?
One last thing, this time last year we welcomed our little ball of fluff all the way from the streets of Romania to Jonathan David HQ. As much as we've had an awesome year for other reasons, our little Cleo has had her very own set of achievements, which deserves an entire blog in its own right, so next week will see me bringing you all up to speed on our incredible little wonder dog.
Now that I've waffled on for long enough, I'm going to leave it there for this week!
Peace. Love and Photos.
